SIGAP (Online Emergency Application) – ITS

ITS currently has 10 faculties and 35 departments. The number of students in 2016 was 17.625 people. As a leading institute, ITS has been accredited with an A as an institution by Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT), which means excellent. And almost all departments in ITS have also obtained accreditation A.

As one of the major institute in Indonesia that is accredited national with A, ITS continues to improve its capacity and quality. As a result, ITS has successfully graduated 12 bachelor study programs in 12 Departments in the certification program by the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). Starting in 2019, there are four more bachelor study programs from four other departments that will follow to be certified, namely the Mathematics Department, the Regional and Urban Planning Department, Physics Engineering Department, and Shipping Systems Engineering Department. In order to prepare it all, ITS continues to make efforts to improve 11 criteria including Expected Learning Outcomes, Specification Program, Structure and Content Program, Teaching and Learning Approach and Student Assessment. In addition, there are also assessments regarding Academic Staff Quality, Support Staff Quality, Student Quality and Support, Facilities and Infrastructure, Quality Enhancement and Output.

In order to strengthen facilities and infrastructure, ITS needs an integrated Emergency Alarm System device which will be installed at many points in ITS. Emergency Alarm System is expected to run as a notification or early warning when a disaster occurs or anything that is emergency.

In order to answer these challenges, Profio tries to offer a breakthrough in the form of procurement of automatic smart alarm devices that are integrated with the SIGAP application and wireless network (Wifi). When a disaster or danger occurs at any point, anyone can immediately go to the nearest alarm to press the button to sound the siren and the signal light. Information about the danger will be forwarded through the wifi network and then will be directly connected to the SIGAP application that has been installed on the security guard or SKK ITS’s smartphone. Through this application, SKK officers will immediately know the location or point of occurrence of danger. The information that received is real-time, so that SKK officers can immediately handle it when disaster occurs.

In November 2018, a total of 47 smart alarm devices were installed and successfully operated at 47 points at ITS. The existence of this devices has succeeded in contributing a positive value for ITS to the survey conducted by the AUN-QA assessor team from 30 January to 1 February 2019. Through this breakthrough, Profio strives to help ITS in realizing its main vision, which is “To become an institution with an international reputation in science and technology, especially in supporting environmentally friendly industries and marine affairs.”
